Description |
Kaho'olawe Site 172 consists of five activity areas, one of which is marked by the presence of eleven cowrie shelllures, situated approximately 1.2 miles from the coast on the east end of Kaho'olawe Island. It covers an area of 60 by 140 meters. Feature A consists of a concentration, measuring 6 by 15 meters, of eleven cowrie shell lures situated on a denuded slope. No other evidence of human activity was found. The boundaries of this site, which is situated near the 1250 foot contour of Luamakika crater, form a polygon with corners at Features B (NE), E (N), C (SW) and A (SE). |
